AITAH for Refusing to Use My Annual Leave to Visit My Sister After Years of Always Being the One Who Traveled?

AITAH for Refusing to Use My Annual Leave to Visit My Sister After Years of Always Being the One Who Traveled? For many years, I was always the one who traveled to see my sister and her family. We live in different states, and whenever I wanted to spend time with them—especially with my nephew when he was little—I was expected to book the flights. I usually flew on Fridays or around public holidays so I could maximize my time there without taking too much leave from work. I paid for all of my own flights. Whenever I asked why they couldn't come visit me instead, my sister always had the same explanation. She said it made more sense for me to travel because I was single, while she had a husband and child. Flying one person was cheaper than flying three, and she also didn't want to take annual leave from work. At the time, I understood. I never argued. I accepted that her husband, child, finances, and work commitments came first. I wanted to see my nephew grow up, so I kept making the trips. Eventually, though, I started feeling like my time was worth less simply because I was single. After years of always being the one making the effort, I stopped traveling about ten years ago because it felt like my single status was being taken advantage of. Fast forward fifteen years. My nephew is now at university, and my sister has started saying she'd like us to spend more time together again. I'd actually like that too. The problem is how she wants it to happen. She now refuses to fly on Fridays because airline tickets are more expensive. Instead, she wants to fly during the middle of the week, which would require me to take annual leave from work so we can spend time together. From her perspective, it makes financial sense. From mine, it feels painfully familiar.

AITAH for Documenting That a Builder Ignored My Drawings After He Tried to Blame Me for His Mistake?

AITAH for Documenting That a Builder Ignored My Drawings After He Tried to Blame Me for His Mistake? I work as a civil engineer, and a big part of my job is making sure construction work follows the approved design. Most days, that means coordinating with contractors, answering questions, and helping solve problems before they become expensive mistakes. A few weeks ago, one of the builders on a project was under serious pressure to get a set of concrete foundations poured as quickly as possible. To help keep the project moving, I arrived at work early and finished revising the foundation drawings before the crew started. As soon as they were complete, I called the builder to let him know I'd finished the revisions and was emailing the updated drawings over immediately. Instead of waiting for the email, he asked me to explain the changes over the phone. I gave him a brief summary, but I was very careful with my wording. In fact, I repeated the same instruction three separate times. I told him that my explanation was only an overview and that he absolutely needed to wait for the revised drawings and build from those—not from my verbal description—because I didn't want any misunderstandings. The updated drawings were emailed only a few minutes later. Later that day, I arrived on site expecting everything to be underway. Instead, I immediately noticed something was wrong. The foundations had already been built, and they didn't match the revised design. I asked the builder whether he'd looked at the drawings before starting. His answer completely caught me off guard. He said, "No. I trusted what you told me on the phone." Before I even had a chance to respond, he began blaming me. He questioned my qualifications, insisted my engineering calculations were wrong, and became so angry that his second-in-command had to step in and calm him down before the situation escalated further. Once things settled slightly, I calmly explained exactly what I'd told him during our phone call. I reminded him
